Description

Tanzanite is a cool, medium-dark purple with blue undertones that give it the distinctive violet-blue quality of the gemstone it is named after. The color sits between purple and blue, reading as a rich, sophisticated violet that shifts slightly depending on the light. Foil backing adds depth and a clean flash behind each facet, keeping the sparkle vivid and refined.

This is a beautiful option for cool-toned palettes, evening-themed builds, and projects that call for a purple with depth and class. It pairs well with sapphire, light amethyst, crystal labrador, and jet black for elegant, jewel-toned combinations. Use it on tumblers, shoes, dance costumes, phone cases, and custom apparel.

KiraKira Glass Rhinestones by CrystalNinja are premium foiled flatback glass rhinestones engineered for clean placement, strong sparkle, and reliable results. Most colors ship in an approximate 10 gross pack (about 1,440 stones). ss30 packs ship in an approximate 2 gross pack (about 288 stones).

These rhinestones are ideal for apparel, shoes, tumblers, canvases, accessories, and custom builds. All flatback rhinestones require adhesive for application. Visit our glue collection for the best adhesive options for your project.

Available in sizes ss3 through ss30. MixedPack option available for size variety in one pack.

Important Rhinestone Information

Aurora Borealis (AB) rhinestones feature a specialty coating applied to the surface of the crystal. This coating creates a shimmering rainbow effect, reflecting warm golds, soft pinks, and vibrant blues depending on the lighting and angle. AB stones are ideal for adding dimension and light play to any design, but they are different from clear or solid-colored crystals; they are treated to sparkle in multiple tones, not one static hue.

Crystals with surface treatments like AB, neon, luminous, and metallic finishes offer high-impact color and shine. However, these effects are applied as a top layer, not baked into the crystal itself. Excessive friction, rubbing, or chemical exposure (like lotions, alcohol, or cleaners) may cause fading or wear over time. These stones are best used on display pieces, accessories with minimal handling, or protected areas of a design.

Do all rhinestone sizes match exactly in color?

No. Glass rhinestones are made in color batches, often referred to as "lots." These batches can vary slightly in tone, saturation, or brightness, even when labeled under the same color name.

This is similar to how fabric, tile, nail polish, beads, vinyl, and paint can shift slightly between lots. Even with precision manufacturing, factors like heat, pressure, coating time, and raw material availability affect each production run.

In rhinestones, this means that:

  • An ss16 Emerald AB might look slightly different from an ss30 Emerald AB, even when made by the same brand.
  • Lighter colors, opals, and coated finishes are more likely to show visible differences across sizes.

What you should do:

If your design depends on precise color matching across multiple stone sizes, we recommend:

  • Buying all the sizes you need at once
  • Ordering from the same supplier and brand (like KiraKira™)
  • Using our curated color mixes, which are hand-balanced for tone consistency across size ranges

This helps ensure a more uniform and professional result, especially for high-visibility projects like signage, portraits, or automotive designs.

Most rhinestones have a foil backing that reflects light through the glass to enhance sparkle. The color of that foil: silver, gold, or rose, does not change the color of the rhinestone itself. Instead, it indicates the manufacturer’s intended quality tier or visual presentation.

Foil color is not the full story. What matters is the glass clarity, cut quality, and foil durability. Our silver-backed KiraKira™ rhinestones are engineered for professional use and deliver top-tier results across all surfaces and applications, without inflated pricing based on foil color alone.
