Let me tell you about the week a $4.5 million car rolled into my life and asked to be covered in rhinestones.
Not a tumbler. Not a phone case. An Aston Martin Valkyrie Spider. One of the rarest hypercars on the planet, owned by Supercar Ron, worth more than most houses in San Diego. And the job was simple to say and terrifying to hear: bedazzle it. All of it. Nobody had ever crystallized a hypercar before. We were about to be first, or we were about to be famous for the wrong reason.
The problem nobody warns you about
Here is what 20+ years of rhinestone work does not fully prepare you for: a hypercar has almost no flat surfaces. The Valkyrie is all compound curves, carbon fiber sculpted by aerodynamicists who never once considered my feelings. Rhinestones are flat-backed. Curves fight flat. Multiply that fight by 300,000 stones and you have the whole problem.
On a normal project, you hide your section transitions in seams and edges. A hypercar gives you nowhere to hide. Every transition would show, unless we invented a way to make them disappear. So we did. We developed a seamless tiled application process built for compound curves, our own technique, refined on this car under a deadline. I will not hand over the full recipe here, teaching that is a whole class, but the result speaks: zero visible seams. Stand an inch away and try to find where one section ends and the next begins. People have tried. lol.
Eight days of controlled obsession
300,000 stones in 8 days. Do that math and it stops sounding glamorous. That is placement after placement after placement, hour after hour, with a Crystal Katana in hand and a $4.5M surface that does not forgive a sloppy row. My team ran like a pit crew: prep, place, check, repeat. This is exactly why I invented the Katana in the first place. Fifteen years of doing this by hand taught me that nobody made the tool this work needs, so I made it myself. Five US patents later, it carried a hypercar.
What happened after
The internet lost its mind. Half a million views on TikTok. The reveal helped Supercar Ron earn his YouTube Play Button and double his viewership. And somewhere in all that noise, the phrase "world's first bedazzled hypercar" became a real line on our resume.

What the Valkyrie taught me
Big projects are not big because of the stone count. They are big because of everything around the stones: the planning, the sourcing, the team, the technique you invent when the existing ones fall short. The same rules that make a tumbler great make a hypercar great. The tumbler is just more forgiving when you learn them.
