How the Crystal Katana works
One end holds my synthetic wax formula. Touch it to the face of any flatback, SS3 to SS40, and the stone lifts cleanly. Place the stone in your glue, give the slightest tilt, and it releases exactly where you aimed. The other end is a precision metal tip for nudging stones into line and cleaning up spacing.
Why it beats the alternatives
- Tweezers: grip pressure launches small stones across the room. You know the pain.
- Wax pencils: most leave residue on the stone face that kills sparkle. My wax formula leaves little to no residue, which is a big part of why the tool took off.
- Fingers: oils on the stone, glue on the fingers, chaos everywhere. lol.
Technique tips from the video
- Touch the stone face lightly. You are lifting it, not stabbing it.
- Let the glue take the stone. The wax holds lighter than the adhesive grabs, so release happens naturally.
- Use the metal tip to fine-tune spacing before the glue sets.
- Recondition the wax tip now and then by kneading it. It lasts a long time.
